How would he be an upgrade over GG? I don't like the idea of a coaching change, just for the sake of change. Give him a better roster, and a shortish leash next season. If things don't look better by Xmas then can him.

Bill Peters is a damn good coach. He'd be a much better option than Vigneault and his outdated dinosaur system

It happens all the time. Remember when Pittsburgh did it? Don't be stupid.

Pittsburgh is got lucky, should we just hand over the team to Cameron and waste another season. Montreal changed coaches half way through the year as well and they bombed. Educate yourself before you post ridiculous things like this.

Changing a coach is a gamble no matter when it's done. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. You act as if Pittsburgh is a one off. Here how about you educate yourself smartass.

We brought in Dutter halfway through the 02-03 season. Didn't get us to the playoffs but the improvement was significant. And of course we all remember what happened the following season.

so 40% go to playoffs, seems like a good number to take a gamble on. Im sure Tre would love that.

Good job missing the point completely. However, considering that they all started with losing records, 40% is pretty impressive.

The point being though, is that 13 of those 22(59%) finished with winning records. A couple just barely, but they were still positive changes. And just to clarify, when I say winning record, I mean from the point of the coaching change, not the entire season.

Keep in mind Coaching changes generally have a negative effect on a team's first 20 games.

May as well pull the band-aid earlier seeing as the Flames almost always suck in October anyway.

I am Cloutier and I think Bill Peters would be an astute hire for the Flames.

Except not really though. It's pretty much 50/50 whether or not it makes an impact.

The reason I suggested mid season is because GG does not deserve to be fired yet. Give him more depth, and a top 6 rw. Then take half a season, roughly, before a decision is made on him. He's earned at least that.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to fire a coach that had great analytic stats but poor actual results for a coach that had great analytic stats but poor actual results.
